honey oat bread

What happens when you’ve already exceeded your grocery budget for the month and there’s still a week left?

Time to bake bread!

For my first attempt at bread-baking, I went with this recipe from King Arthur Flour. As you can probably guess from the reviews, it was pretty awesome. I ditched the maple entirely, and it was fantastic. The mild sweetness with a hint of cinnamon is perfect for anything from french toast to sandwiches.

Seriously, it was perfect. The rise, the color, the texture, the taste — everything. I don’t mind bragging because it’s not my recipe. Delicious.

There’s something very exciting and empowering — almost magical — about baking your own bread, and if you’re interested in giving it a try, I would definitely recommend this recipe.

If, however, you’d rather leave the kneading to someone else and just enjoy the final product, drop me a line and I can hook you up.
